Cookies & Data Policy
This Cookies & Data Policy explains what Rose Seeds stores on your device and in our database, and why that storage is necessary to operate the Service. This page is maintained by the site owner and is not a certification or independent audit.
Cookies and device storage
We use small text files and browser storage technologies to keep the Service working:
- Authentication cookies — keep you signed in while you use the site.
- Session and preference tokens — remember your account session and basic UI preferences.
- Google Analytics cookies — measure which pages are visited in aggregate. Google Analytics may store cookies under its own domain.
You can block cookies through your browser settings. Some features, including sign-in, may not work correctly if you do.
Data we store in our database
To provide the private features of the Service — such as journal entries, messages, circle discussions, letters, and your account settings — we must store certain information in our backend database. This is not optional tracking: it is the basic infrastructure required for a website that remembers who you are and delivers the content you create and receive.
When you use an account, we store:
- Your email address — for authentication, password resets, and account notices.
- Your codename — the display name you choose for the private community.
- Conversations and messages — the text of private messages and circle threads so you and your recipients can read them.
- Images you upload — photos or images you attach to messages or posts, stored in our secure storage system.
- Journal entries, letters, and notes — content you write inside the private features.
- Preferences and settings — choices like blur mode, safety key, notification settings, and other account options.
- Security logs — login attempts and timestamps used to detect abuse and protect your account.
Why we store this data
We store this information only because it is technically necessary to run the Service. A website that lets you send messages, keep a journal, or join a private circle cannot function without storing that content somewhere. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or sale. We do not train AI models on your private content.
How long we keep it
We keep your content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and most of your content from Settings. Security logs are kept for a limited time for abuse prevention. Backups may retain deleted data for a short period before being overwritten.
Your choices
You can review, manage, or delete your account from Settings inside the site. You can also block cookies in your browser, though some features may not work without them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
